LOVE THISE GLOVES FOR NH WINTER WORK!! 5 I bought a pair of these on a whim, years ago; at my local OVERPRICED welding supply store. They are awesome!! Velcro strap on the back to cinch the cuff tight to your wrist so no snow gets in there when you have to dig around in the snow. Nice and WARM keeping your fingers toasty when your arguing with a freezing cold pry bar, putting tire chains on, or trying to rig some equipment chains and hook it up to the crane. I keep a pair in my service truck and 2 pickups as well a pair in the mud room at home. I've learned the hard way that when you love an item of clothing or foot ware to buy 3 or 4 of them before they seem to inevitably become discontinued (ie: my carhartt jacket, Red wing boots). I have a dozen pairs waiting in the wings as backups. The front of the gloves have 2 layers of supple leather on the palms and fingers, the thumb and points in the palm and fingers have 3 layers of leather for extra wear. The only downside is on the back of the glove. This is made out of breathable, stretchy nylon. GREAT BY ITSELF and warm......however, add cutting torch or welding spatter and nylon quickly turns to MUSH. Even the grinding sparks can burn holes in them..........just have to be mindful to put your welding gloves on. I always think I can get away with 'just this one cut..........or just a little grinding'. When the gloves are new they are a little tight (I wear XXL gloves) BUT after wearing them, getting them wet, and just using them they do stretch out and become like a second skin. I usually hate wearing gloves and try to work, but these fill the bill.
