The Cutmaster 42 is no longer available - the suggested replacement is the Cutmaster 40 (1-4000-1).

The Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 42 Plasma System (1-4200) has been designed with the idea that recommended cut capacity should also be the true cut capacity. Makes sense, doesn't it? This thinking eliminates the need to "buy up" or feeling like you have to buy a machine more powerful than you need. That means, when Thermal Dynamics says the Cutmaster 42 will cut one-quarter inch material, it will cut it. The Cutmaster 42 is one of the most affordable, highest quality 1/4 inch plasma systems on the market today.

Very good product 5 Nice easy to use product.
Local welding shops 3 Local welding shops are an invaluable resource but I am glad to see you guys are online. I live in a rural area and do not have access to local welding supplies; so thank. You are now my new welding machines local welding shop.
Easy to use 5 Super easy to use. Perfect for Autobody and light fabrication.
Fantastic Machine 5 Great machine right out of the box!!
Very Happy 5 Comes with every thing I needed to start out. It is a nice machine and does what I want and more. It is great for 3/8 and down and I believe it would do 1/2" if done slowly. But I have a tourch for hevey iron and bought this for smaller metal the tourch does not do very neatly. This does!! With the 75.00 rebate plus the low price it is a great deal.
Great Product, Service, and Price 5 Couldn't happier!
Good job! 5 Good job!
Plasma cutter 5 Great machine, fast shipping, great price
New User 5 I am new to plasma cutting. This machine makes it easy for a beginner to make clean cuts in no time. I am using it in my home shop where I rebuild Jeeps for a hobby. This is so much easier and cleaner than using the gas torches.
Weekend trailer 4 Hey if your thinking about a plasma cutter this little beast ( cutmaster42 ) 2019 with the SL60 , will do most jobs you have. I was bouncing between the 60i and the 42 and can say I’m very happy with my purchase, took it out of the box put it together installed an external water separator / regulator set it at 120 ( has internal reg/water separator ) plugged it in pulled the trigger to get the feel and after putting it to the test on 1/4” plate I was especially happy with the cut, after making a few strait cuts I tried a few lazy (S) cuts to see what’s the best way to hold the gun, 15* tilted back drag cuts are the best looking as if it was cut with a saw, best cuts are with the gun just a smidge off the piece smooth drawing to you motion works best. For the weekend guy that wants to cut expensive gas bottles refills look to this cutter, using a strait edge nonmetallic can get awesome cuts without a wave in the cut ,just remember to not lean the tip to the side , I drag my elbow to steady the gun, oh and less heat in the metal that doesn’t warp it, sheet metal was as easy as tin snips. Working on a landscape trailer I had to remove and install new D-rings , this thing cut them off faster then the torch could ever, don’t even pull out that grinder to cut them off , you will use it for the prep work, between this Thermal Dynamics 42 and the Miller welder it made a fun afternoon working on my trailer, now I’m looking around trying to find something else to play with. The other main reason that I bought the 42 was the difference between the 60i and this didn’t justify the cost difference, now if your in industrial working hours on end then look at a much larger unit to keep the unit cool during operation, remember the duty cycle! Happy cutting!
Great little machine! Works very 5 Great little machine! Works very well
Have used it just a 4 Have used it just a little so for good
Great tool. 5 This cutter is perfect for the small shop that does light manufacturing of parts and repairs. I was quit impressed on how well it cuts metal all the way up to 1/2 inch. It is going to be a good addition to our shop.
